Acknowledgements
I want to acknowlegde all those, who stood with me, during this journey towards my Ph.d thesis and here the acknowledgement.
I dedicate this thesis to my friend Late Dr. Pankaj Patil, who shared a burning desire to start biotech venture with me. His accident and death during trekking in Lonavala Hills, was the first major tragedy, I witnessed in Life and it was a great loss for me. My Ph.D. degree will be a stepping stone towards our dream to build a Biotech Venture.
Ph.D is a memorable and significant part of my life. From an Aimless chap, I have become more focused, not only in profession, but also in my personal life. The Ph.D journey started with my friend Late. Dr. Pankaj Patil, with whom I travelled all the way from IIT, Kharagpur to National Chemical Laboratory to meet Dr. Vidya Gupta, my Thesis advisor for Ph.D. position.
The first meeting with Dr.Vidya Gupta has created a sense of devotion and respect towards her and a confidence that I can perform well in her guidance. She offered me a challenging problem work and guided me to overcome lot of hurdles, to learn by myself. The wonderful part of her attitude is that, she practices a gardener attitude in grooming research students, that is a gardner, will water the plant, applies manure, protect it from pest, disease and feels happy, when it flowers. She encourages the research students, to practice any innovative ideas, develop their own solution and help others to learn. Continous encouragement of Dr.Vidya S Gupta, helped me not only to concentrate on research work but also extra curricular acitivities like entrepreneurship programme, business plan competition etc.
